"Everything comes down to da'as."
The One-Two Hunch
It is so true. Hence, is it a mere coincidence that man's first test centered around an Aitz HA'DA'AS Tov v'Rah, a tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil? From the beginning, it has been a question of how much da'as, and how you got it, and the answer to these questions affects the very quality of life, from peace at home to peace in the world, and everything else in-between. And now, as we live through the period of history that corresponds to when the first man erred regarding da'as, it is more important than ever that we understand this crucial concept, and how it fits into everyday life.
Many books have been written discussing the concept of da'as, but not like this one. Many authors have alluded to the "equation of life," but none have articulated just what it is, or how to use it to your advantage, as this book does. Rabbi Pinchas Winston's new book, "The Equation of Life" may be short in pages, considering the depth of the topic, but it is long on insights regarding how to harness the power of this equation in everyday life.
That is Part One of this groundbreaking new book. Part Two is the follow up of The Equation of Life, appropriately called "The Thirteen Principles of Jewish History," which either reveals or reviews 13 ideas that put into perspective the history of the Jewish people, past, present, and future. These ideas are a must for every Jew to know, especially at this crucial time in history, as Heaven ties up loose ends and we are tested to find out who is one the same page as God, and who is not.
Dedication Opportunity
When you save a soul, you are credited with helping all the souls that will ever be affected by the soul that you saved. Likewise, when you dedicate a Torah book, and make it possible for others to benefit from it, your merit increases every time someone is affected by the sefer, either directly or indirectly, in proportion to your contribution. How much more so is this the case with books such as this one, which allow Jews to align their da'as with God's, and become a partner with Him in the fulfillment of His master plan for Creation.
These are difficult times, especially financially. However, as many rabbis are pointing out, this is just one of the ways that God reveals just how devoted we are to His Torah and mitzvos.
The following link will take you to a page with the various dedication opportunities available for this project. Anyone wishing to make a dedication by check should respond to equation@mac.com. All contributions are tax deductible in the U.S.
